Bellingdon & Asheridge Newsletter
Summer 2005

Well, the summer finally looks as though it has arrived. With it, as usual, the final preparations are being made to organise the 'Summer Fete'.
The format will be different this year but your support will be crucial. As some of you may be aware, the village hall requires a substantial amount of funds in order to maintain it in a reasonable order.
We have a number of overheads which must be met and the hiring income has not covered these costs.
Also this year we have had a number of expensive repairs.

This comes on top of the money we need to spend in order to combat the subsidence to the front left hand corner. This means that your support is vital in purchasing raffle tickets (top Prize £200), programmes and generally supporting the fete.

A great deal of hard work goes into organising the event so that everyone can have an enjoyable afternoon as well as providing financial support for the hall. Remember that this is our major fund raising event of the year.

Whilst mentioning the hall, please don't forget that it is available for hire at reasonable rates, or how about becoming a regular hirer and setting up a Toddler Croup or Playgroup? Let us have your ideas.

The playground sub-committee met in April and discussed various ideas for playground equipment. Once this has been agreed there is still a long way to go in order to raise the necessary funds. All I can say is we are working on it, but if you have any suggestions please let me know.
See you at the fete!
